Dreams

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 20, 2007, 9:56 AM
It's such a random thought:

Have you ever thought of yourself more clever in your dreams than in real life?

I mean seriously, a lot of my dreams never made sense... But recently over the past few months, the rare dreams I had have been... very entertaining. :XD: I love a good story. Sometimes I dread having to wake up.

For example, a couple of months ago... I was a young, eighteen-year-old entrepreneur named Richard Quick who had to start a huge corporation that had something to do with Chinese food, a laundromat, and a psychology firm (LOL, whut? 8D) to win the love of a drug addict, as well as the impulsive bet he made with her multi-millionaire tycoon of a father.

Her father happened to be the business rival that completely humiliated Rich's father, consequently running the entire Quick family business and wealth to the ground. I switched back and forth between first-person and third-person perspectives in this one.

Once, I was in an early era in a country that seemed to be inspired by Asian culture. But unfortunately, the entire country was incredibly devout to their religion--to the point where the overly zealous government even had state-sponsored/military enforced mass suicides conducted throughout the nation. Lots of people jumped off cliffs. :(

But it seems the main goal was to find a white crane who enabled people to see the dead (through apparently a waterfall or a rainbow...).

We then meet the character of the crane who has taken the form of a tall albino man; he was traveling around with a young woman who had taken responsibility of a newborn whose mother had died in one of the government's uh... religious sprees. When I woke up, they were traveling around a barren desert.

I imagine one day they are caught by the government, and he changes back into a crane and flies from a cliff with the devout soldiers leaping after him and plummeting to their deaths. That was sort of the last image I had in mind.

Anyway, those were just a few examples I remember vividly. |D

They're still absurd, but... they've been very engaging.

What about you guys? Ever had a really inpsiring dream before? What was it like? x3

I changed my avatar. ^^ *pets it*

Anime-2000's SAT Word of the Day

Curmudgeon - a cranky, bad-tempered person

Why yes, trolls are indeed unhappy curmudgeons who prowl around teh interwebz. D:

Lugubrious - sad, mournful; depressing (rather exaggeratedly so)

I'm sorry, but this word sounds so weird. :XD: I'd probably end up laughing if somebody in a funeral I was attending described the situation as lugubrious. (This word was actually used in the book I'm reading. :o)

Misc!

I got my CSS template here :XD: : [link]

 Thank you for the sub, =jisuk. You rock! :D

;__; I want dreams like that too! Yours is totally giving me inspiration somehow @_@

My dreams are just stupid and random, no story at all, you wouldn't want to hear them xD
I always wake up thinking WOW I JUST HAD THE MOST AWESOME DREAM EVER. And then I think... and I can't remember anything anymore. T_T hfksdfds.

I don't find your dreams absurd at all, I like them quite a lot. I also like good stories and I love it when my dreams turn out to be those things, sometimes I've even managed to dream several nights with the same story and see it develop and end!

My dreams also tend to be a bit "crazy" I suppose. One of the dreams I liked most and I'm considering about writting in a tale or something kept me switching from first to third person, much like yours with Richard. It was about a girl who was in fact like a reincarnation of another girl who had been part of a great tragedy that had happened in the village where them both lived. The reincarnated girl was supposed to help to break the curse that had fallen in the house of her previous life but she didn't remember anything and thus was all confused and ended being killed just like in her previous life.

A bit paranoid of a dream I suppose but I actually liked the story and how it developed ^^
woahhh.. but yea you have a point.. i had a dream about me and a rival that ive always hated which we were in a alien land competing against each other.. in the end i won because i had been better than her

it showed me that i am not a bad person but i was better than her in many ways because i did not fight back against her.. she was always picking on me but i would never pick on her..
THE END
Ah, that's good to know. Take the high road, right? ;D I think it's always interesting to see how you view yourself and how you view others. I hear that dreams can often show a lot about a person; when you're asleep, your brain tries to solve problems in your head, and that can show up in dreams. =P

 Ah~I've always wanted to "finish" a dream another night. XD Haha, I like the idea of having an ongoing saga in dream world!

Ouch, she died too? :< I think it's cool how your dream looped back to the reincarnation dying just like how her former self did. One thing I notice in dreams is there's a good chance that either something unexpected will occur or that the ending won't be happy. That's the nature of dreams, but I'm always delighted when something ironic happens.

Oh I know the pain. I forget dreams more often than I remember them. :XD: I keep telling myself I'll remember them when I'm half-asleep, but I rarely do when I wake up.

My friend Shannon told me about a dream once where she and Emily were going to the post office, riding on unicorns... and then they were stranded at the postoffice because their unicorns broke down. Then the post office became a patisserie. <_<
